There are a few rules about our partner program you should know about. No gotchas here, just some terms to keep everyone happy. If you have a separate signed agreement with beehiiv related to referrals, please look to that agreement because this program is not an additional offer. Once your partner account is approved, you will be issued a Custom Link, appended with a custom UTM Parameter. You can share your Custom Link with prospects interested in creating a beehiiv account and your Custom Link will provide the prospect with a discount. When the prospect clicks on your Custom Link, a tracking cookie will be created that lasts 60 days. If the prospect signs up for a beehiiv account during that 60-day period, their sign-up is tracked and attributed to your partner account. The prospect's account will first be a free trial. If the prospect converts to a paid plan before or at the end of their free trial, your partner account will get credit under this program for all fees the prospect pays during the first 12 months they are a paying customer, subject to a maximum commission payout of $15,000 USD per each customer referral.
Your commission rate is tied to your tier in the partner program provided in your partner portal account and is determined by your performance in the partner program over time. While our standard commission structure is up to 60% for 12 months, please note that commissions may vary and it will always be specified in your partner portal account.
You may be eligible to participate in bonuses from time to time. All bonus programs will be provided in and performance tracked through the partner portal. These opportunities are offered in addition to your regular commission earnings.
Commissions are calculated on the 1st of every month for the previous month and then paid on or around the 15th of each month.
It is important to note that commissions for each new prospect are earned and payable (due) only after a one-time 30-day provisioning window. This helps protect against fraud, spam, and potential chargebacks.
A few notes on payouts:
Payment Platform. In order to receive payment, you must create a valid account with our payment provider (which is currently Dub), including providing an accurate and up to date email address and agreeing to Dub's terms. A link with instructions will be made available in the partner portal as part of account setup. See Dub's helpful payout FAQs here.
Self-referrals are not allowed (i.e. signing up through your own partner link).
Attempting to mislead prospects is not allowed (i.e. posting fake discounts to coupon-sharing websites) and will result in your account being permanently terminated.
Each person or company participating in this Program is permitted to have only one partner account, and cannot have an email associated with multiple partner accounts.
In some cases, we can give credit to a partner even if the customer did not sign up through a partner's Custom Link. If you have a case like this, please contact us here and we'll do our best to help attribute your referral to your account.
No paid search engine ads on Bing and or Google (especially on branded terms or domain names.) If you're running search ads directly to your affiliate link this will result in your account being permanently banned. Keep in mind Meta, LinkedIn, or other social ads are ok. No pretending to be beehiiv or acting on behalf of us or any variations/misspelling of our brand name (i.e. as an employee, company, or website).
We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service prospectively for our partner program at any time by updating these terms here. Any changes or updates apply only to referrals made after the terms are updated.
We reserve the right to terminate your partner account immediately for violation of any of these Terms of Service at our sole discretion.
Commissions generated by mechanisms that are in violation of our Terms of Service will not be paid or owed.
We are Independent Contractors. This Partnership Program creates no partnership, joint venture, co-ownership, ability to bind the other or any other kind of joint undertaking.
Taxes are your responsibility. You are responsible for all income taxes and any other tax that may be payable by you in connection with receiving payments in connection with this program. Please see the policies and practices of our payment provider (which is currently Dub) here for information about taxes.
